What we do
We support local youth in Sussex, Lisbon, Lannon, and Butler through scholarships, school programs, and a full calendar of community fundraising.
We Raise Funds
Hot Rods on Hampton, our car show in Butler, is our biggest event of the year. We also run Cars on Main in Lannon, host a lemonade stand at Sussex Lions Daze, hold meat raffles throughout the year, and operate the Menomonee Falls Popcorn Wagon for a week each summer.
We Fund Scholarships
Through the Optimist International Essay Contest, we award $14,000 in scholarships every year to students in the Sussex Hamilton School District, from middle school through high school. Students can attend public or parochial school, they just need to live in the district.
We Give Back
We support school clubs throughout the district, donate to the Jr. Charges Club, and help stock Blessings in a Backpack so kids have food to get them through the weekend. We also support the Pauline Haas Sussex Library and the Butler Library.

We support our local youth!
The Sussex Lisbon Lannon Butler Optimist Club has been serving our four communities for years. We are volunteers, neighbors, and parents who believe every young person deserves encouragement, opportunity, and a reason to be optimistic about the future. Sussex, Lisbon, Lannon, and Butler make up the Sussex Hamilton School District, which is why our club represents all four communities together.
Each year we award $14,000 in scholarship money to students in the Sussex Hamilton School District through our essay contest, and we put our fundraising dollars to work supporting school clubs, Blessings in a Backpack, the Jr. Charges Club, and our local libraries in Sussex and Butler.
Through our annual events, fundraising, and community involvement, we work to make a real difference right here at home, in the schools, parks, and neighborhoods where our kids grow up.
